It is my privilege to present Maralex Allied Hospital and Educational Services (MAHES), an institution established to advance quality healthcare, allied health education, and community-centered development. In Sierra Leone and other developing regions, communities continue to face limited access to care, shortages of trained professionals, constrained emergency response capacity, and persistent health inequities.
MAHES was established to address these challenges through disciplined planning, integrated service delivery, and sustainable institutional development. Guided by our mission of Advancing Health, Transforming Lives, and Empowering Communities, we are developing a coordinated platform for healthcare delivery, workforce development, education, research, emergency response, and community engagement.
Our vision is to be recognized as a center of excellence in healthcare delivery, allied health education, research, and community development, grounded in compassionate care, accountability, innovation, collaboration, inclusion, leadership, and sustainability.
To advance this vision, we have initiated development of a state-of-the-art 80-bed hospital, launched emergency ambulance, medical response, and community pharmacy services, served more than 100,000 beneficiaries, and developed a 2026–2031 strategic plan valued at $5 million.
These efforts demonstrate our commitment to improving maternal and child health, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, preparing future professionals, and establishing sustainable pathways toward healthier and more resilient communities.
As Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer, I affirm that enduring progress requires principled leadership and strategic collaboration. We invite partners across government, healthcare, academia, development, research, and community sectors to join us in expanding capacity, advancing innovation, and improving health outcomes across Sierra Leone and beyond.
